Chester County promotion hits the road

The Chester County Conference and Visitors Bureau's latest marketing venture rolls out - literally.  In a unique marketing partnership, the Visitors Bureau along with Herrs Snack Factory Tour, Krapf's Coaches, Longwood Gardens and QVC Studio Tour, has developed a mobile outdoor ad campaign. The Chester County bus wrap covers a 47 passenger Krapf motor coach. It highlights area attractions as well as the web site brandywinevalley.com to drive customers to all there is to see and do in Brandywine Valley.  "This was a great opportunity to promote Chester County and our membership in and out of the region." according to Greg Edevane, Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Chester County Conference and Visitors Bureau.  The motor coach will be used throughout the region as well as charters outside the area through mid- November 2007. If you would like information on chartering this or any other Krapf Coach, please contact Karen Ferry at 610-431-1500 ext. 203 or Kferry@Krapfbus.com.

Governor Rendell applauds Herr Foods expansion in Chester County

Governor Edward G. Rendell announced recently that Herr Foods Inc. is strengthening its presence in Pennsylvania with a $15 million expansion of its existing manufacturing operation in Chester County. The company will also create 64 new jobs within three years and retain 470 current positions at its Nottingham facility.

"It’s always gratifying to see a ‘home grown’ company like Herr Foods thriving in Pennsylvania’s competitive business environment,” Governor Rendell said. “Created 61 years ago, this family-owned company is now a recognized leader in the snack food industry.”

Herr Foods is expanding its production capacity by building a 70,000-square-foot manufacturing facility at its existing location in Nottingham. The new plant will provide the company with space to produce cheese curls and other new snack products.

“Herr Foods is excited about the opportunities this new plant will provide and appreciates the support we have received for the project,” said James M. Herr, chairman and CEO of Herr Foods. “We are proud of our 61-year history as a Pennsylvania company and look forward to continuing to be a part of the commonwealth’s vitality.”
