German travel writers visit Brandywine Valley

The Chester County Conference and Visitors Bureau and the Brandywine River Museum recently hosted five travel writers from Germany.  The group was escorted by Terese Balzereit, Marketing Manager, International Tourism for the Pennsylvania Tourism Office.  The tour was focused on artisans in Pennsylvania and the Brandywine River Museum is a must -see according to Balzereit.  The writers took many notes and asked questions of Dawn Dowling, Group Tour and Special Events Coordinator, as she gave an overview of the museum's magnificent collection.

Bed & Breakfasts beware

The County Treasurer’s Office has alerted us to a scam that has been tried on a couple of area Bed and Breakfasts.  Two B&B’s have been contacted by e-mail with a supposed long-term reservation with an offer to pre-pay.  They offer to over pay as well, and ask that a refund for “any overpayment” be sent to an overseas address.  Most of our members are too smart for this ploy, and if an offer looks too good to be true, of course it usually is!
